Admission To Brownsea Island Is Free For Members But You Now Have To Pay To Get There

National Trust members: new ferry fares

Admission to Brownsea Island is free for members, but you now have to pay to get there

What you need to know

From 1 April 2023, National Trust members will be charged for the ferry fare to Brownsea Island and car parking as part of a new pricing structure. The Trust says the move is necessary to ensure the island remains accessible and well-maintained.

Members will now pay £4.50 for a return ferry fare, while non-members will pay £10.50. Car parking will cost £3 for members and £6 for non-members.

The Trust says the new pricing structure will help to cover the costs of running the ferry service and maintaining the island’s facilities, including the ranger service, visitor centre and toilets.

Members will still be able to enjoy free admission to the island, but they will need to bring their membership card with them.

The new pricing structure does not apply to members who are part of a group of 15 or more visitors.

The Trust says it is committed to making Brownsea Island accessible to everyone, and it will continue to offer a range of discounts and concessions.
